Paul drives business development
An experienced business development professional was so impressed with seeing Dorset Chamber’s team in action that he decided to join them.
Paul Taylor spent more 30 years in the automotive sector across Dorset, with roles at high-end dealerships and running his own business. But he is now in the driving seat at the chamber after becoming its newly appointed business development executive.
Paul, who lives in Poole, said: “The chamber team always did a really great job when they hosted events at the various showrooms where I worked over the years.
“I was always impressed and built up a strong relationship with the chamber, so when the position came up it was absolutely perfect for me.”
Paul added: “Some people still think the chamber is just a member organisation but it is so much more than that.
“Having been on the member’s side I can articulate to businesses just how well the chamber can help them grow and promote them to the wider community as well ensure they know about all of the great benefits which membership brings too.
“As a former business owner so I can also understand what they go through too. This is an exciting time to join the chamber and a great opportunity. I’m looking forward to it.”
Paul has previously held senior positions in business development at dealerships including Poole Audi, Volvo Cars Poole, BMW & Mini Bournemouth, Peugeot in both Blandford and Dorchester. He also ran his own automotive business in Weymouth for a number of years.
Dorset Chamber is the county’s leading business support organisation with about 700 members representing more than 37,000 employees.
It is also the voice of business, championing the business community locally and in the corridors of power through its accreditation with the British Chambers of Commerce.
Dorset Chamber chief executive Ian Girling said: “A very warm welcome to Paul.
“He will lead on new businesses opportunities both within the membership and the wider business community.
“Paul has been involved with the chamber for many years and is a tremendous addition to our talented, committed and friendly team. He will fit right in and we’re thrilled to see him join.”
