After leaving a very cold and wet Weymouth at 6am on 30th November 2022, the coach trip to London was abuzz with excitement.
After going through security at the entrance, we were lead into the Great Hall where just weeks’ previously our beloved Queen Elizabeth II lay in state. Tour guides took us through the House of Commons and the House of Lords which was quite an experience on its own. We were then joined by our very gracious host, Richard Drax MP for Dorset and escorted to a Committee Room where we spent a very pleasant 45 minutes listening to and asking pertinent questions of our MP.
The group was then able to shop and stroll around London until the return trip to Weymouth at 4pm. It was a very enjoyable day and will be on the calendar for next year.
